Nice to Be a Fine Art Photographer

Monday, July 4th, 2011

My fine art nature photography is currently on display in Portland, Oregon at Black Box Gallery in a show called “Shut Up and Shoot”. The title of the show made me laugh and so I was compelled to submit my work.

Flower Photography Exhibition

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

My photo studio in Pasadena used to be next door to a great espresso cafe/roaster, Jones Coffee. They, unfortunately, moved this year just down the block. I still go for a visit for one of their wonderful Italian sodas and amazing cafe mochas. They are a forwarding-thinking company and have the hippest location that is one of the best kept secrets (not for long) in Pasadena. And they showcase various artists!

This month they have a floral theme and when they called me, I knew I had to contribute my flower photography. Please go and visit this month while it is still hanging. And check out one of the coolest coffee roasters in town. I have several flower portraits hanging there from a 24″x30″ to a 30″x40″ Gallery Wrap.

Flower Photography

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

I am known primarily as a portrait photographer. Many people don’t know that I have a secret passion for flower photography. The secret’s not so secret anymore.

What began as a way to show my children the beauty of light and form in the garden as they were looking at our array of strange looking garden bugs became my creative release and obsession and now, to my surprise and delight, is being welcomed into art galleries.
