Creative Photographers
What is creativity?
I think that this is an important question to ask somebody who calls themself a photographer. I have been a creative photographer for 20 years and I’ve seen many photographers come and go. Photographers email me daily from around the world and usually say that my work is inspiring. I am very flattered and I appreciate those comments. I work hard at trying to interpret the moment and interpret the person standing in front of me. I attempt always to create something new and powerful. I hope you can see that in my work.
What is not creativity? That’s an even more important question. Creativity is NOT copying someone else’s website, or buying “cheat” cards that explain pose 21 or pose 28. It is not copying at all. It is listening and communicating via your medium.
When photographers ask me how to do something, I always suggest that they stop looking around for ideas and come up with those ideas on their own and look at the person, really look at the person in front of them. THAT is creativity.
So, creative photographers, stop looking around and start looking within. You will do yourselves a favor and do your clients a bigger favor.
